Residential heating and air

Houses, condos, townhomes and rentals across Chapel Hill and the towns around it. One call, one licensed technician, and a price before any work starts.

What we handle

  • AC repair when the air goes warm, the outside unit will not start or water shows up at the indoor unit
  • Heat pump repair for cold air in winter, ice that will not clear and bills that jumped
  • Furnace repair for burners that light and quit, no heat and gas smells
  • System replacement with written quotes that name the model numbers and the warranty
  • Tune-ups in spring and fall
  • Duct repair for hot upstairs rooms and dusty vents
  • Mini-splits for additions, garages and older homes without ducts

Chapel Hill homes

Most houses here built since the 1990s heat and cool with a heat pump. Older homes near downtown and in Northside often started with a furnace and got central air later, with ducts through a crawlspace. Larger homes in Meadowmont and Governors Club usually run two systems, one for each floor, with the upstairs air handler in the attic. Our technicians see all of these every week.

If you rent

Call your landlord or property manager first. North Carolina General Statute 42-42 requires landlords to keep the heating and air conditioning they supply in working order, so the repair is usually their bill. If your landlord asks you to find a technician, we can send one who will bill the landlord directly.

What a visit looks like

The technician calls to set a time, looks at the system, tells you what failed and quotes the repair. Nothing starts until you say yes. Small repairs like a capacitor or a drain clearing are usually done in under an hour. If the system is past 12 to 15 years and needs a major part, the technician prices a replacement at the same visit so you can compare.
